Punxsy man charged with child porn, statutory assault

PUNXSUTAWNEY — On Friday, Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police reported the arrest of a Punxsutawney man in relation to allegations of child pornography possession and statutory sexual assault, with the man facing a variety of felony charges as a result of the incidents.

According to court documents acquired online, Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police arrested 42-year-old Kevin Michael Kight on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Douglas Chambers on 74 charges of possessing child pornography, a third-degree felony.

On Friday, police provided an update, reporting that, as a result of the on-going investigation into the possession of child pornography charges and the execution of a search warrant on Kight's residence, additional charges were approved by District Attorney Jeffrey Burkett.

The report said Kight was allegedly involved in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female, which occurred during the summer months of 2015 at several locations within the Punxsutawney Borough. Police also alleged that Kight admitted to the relationship during an interview with PSP-Punxsy.

As a result of the new information, Kight has been charged with one count of statutory sexual assault, one count of aggravated indecent assault, one count of unlawful contact with a minor, one count of corruption of minors, two counts of sexual abuse of children, two counts of criminal solicitation/sexual abuse of children and one count of indecent assault.
