Police report shooting from ATV, seek details

Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police reported Monday that they are seeking information and/or those who may have information regarding an incident of aggravated assault that occurred at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Sunday along Sulgar Road in Pinecreek Township.

Police reported that a 64-year-old male victim was walking along the Sulgar Road when he observed a side-by-side traveling from one side of the road to the other. The victim alleged that two white males with medium-length brown hair, both in their mid-to-late 20s were in the side-by-side, with one wearing an orange shirt or jacket. The side-by-side was orange with a black hard-top roof and no doors, unknown make or model.

The victim stated that six to seven shots were fired by one of the occupants in the side-by-side as it approached and that when it drove past him, he heard another shot. He added that six to seven more shots were fired as the side-by-side continued down Sulgar Road toward State Route 322.

At that time, police reported, the victim realized that his left hand had been shot. He drove to the hospital, and police were contacted by hospital personnel.
