Local tenant charged with animal cruelty

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Borough Police responded to an incident involving cruelty to animals that occurred on Friday, June 26, at a residence on East Liberty Street.

Police were summoned to the residence for a report of dogs being left unattended or abandoned inside. An investigation into the complaint revealed that two dogs allegedly were isolated in a small room that was heavily soiled in urine and fecal matter with no food or water present. Electricity and running water were previously shut off at the residence.

As a result, the tenant of the property, Marina V. Radja, was charged with two counts of cruelty to animals for allegedly neglecting the animals or depriving them of necessary sustenance, drink and access to clean and sanitary shelter.
