It's back! Relay For Life to return Saturday

The 2015 Relay For Life of Punxsutawney will be held from noon to 10 p.m. this Saturday in Barclay Square. Relay for Life is an annual event that recognizes cancer survivors, fighters and caregivers. This year, nine teams and 46 participants have been working hard to raise money for Relay For Life. The schedule of events is as follows:
8 a.m. — Registration opens for the 3rd annual Footprints for Hope 5K (registration fee is $17);
9 a.m. — Footprints for Hope 5K begins;
10 a.m. — Team Registration opens (all team members must report to the borough building and get teams set up);
10:15 a.m. — Doughnut on a string eating contest;
11 a.m. — Silent auction and luminaria sales open;
11:15 a.m. — Cotton ball relay;
Noon — Opening ceremony
Flag presentation — Honor Guard
National Anthem — Bill Burke
Welcome — Mayor Richard Alexander

1 p.m. — Cheer Force;
1:30 p.m. — Box decorating and race contest;
2 p.m. — Scavenger hunt starts;
2:30 p.m. — Social Hour Bingo card game;
3 p.m. — Bra decorating judging and Bra Parade around the park;
3:30 p.m. — Band "Off The Wall" starts;
4 p.m. — Survivor registration begins;
4:30 p.m. — Three-legged race;
5 p.m. — Watermelon-eating contest ($5 entry fee; 50 percent paid to winner/50 percent donation to the American Cancer Society);
5:30 p.m. — Relay Minute to Win it;
6 p.m. — Survivor and Caregiver Ceremony and Victory Lap;
6:30 p.m. — Survivor Reception and water balloon toss;
7 p.m. — Last chance to purchase Luminaria (The luminaria ceremony is an opportunity to recognize loved ones lost to cancer and to honor those still fighting. Luminaries are displayed to light the way for Relay For Life throughout the night);
8 p.m. — Pool noodle frenzy;
8:30 p.m. — Winners of raffles and auctions to be announced;
9 p.m. — Luminaria Ceremony (luminaries are lit, and quiet time begins as names and photos of loved ones are displayed);
10 p.m. — Clean up
