Sharon Smith, 49, Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, in Punxsutawney.

She was born Sept. 3, 1962, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Thomas M. Pearce, who survives, of Mahaffey, and the late Velma R. (Shields) Pearce.

Sharon loved flowers, gardening, animals and her dog, Raven.

She was a woman who was devoted to her children and will be missed by many.

In addition to her father, surviving relatives include a son, Edward T. Gaston of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Lena S. Smith of Punxsutawney; a brother, David T. Pearce and wife Wendy of Glen Campbell; and four sisters, Vicky Lindsay and husband William of Texas, Cindy Deyarmin of Punxsutawney, twin sister Susan Lowmaster of Mahaffey, and Penny Yeager and husband Barney of Cherry Tree; and her very special aunt, June "Bubba" Calabrese of Punxsutawney.

All arrangements are private for the family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
