On Wednesday, Punxsutawney Area Hospital (PAH) held a mortgage burning celebration in honor of making the final payments for the building, which was built in the 1970s, and for the 1999 addition to the hospital.

Pictured here is PAH CEO Daniel D. Blough Jr. placing a copy of the mortgage into the fire.

The hospital also took the opportunity to recognize “original employees,” many of whom are pictured above, who have been at the building since its opening.

Pictured are (front, from left) Cheryl Lowmaster, original employee; Blough; Clark Simpson, M.D., president of the PAH medical staff; Rick Baun, original employee; (middle row) Darlene Brink, Carol States, Dottie Brink, Linda Majercik and Connie Engeholm, original employees; (back row) Carol Niver, original employee; and Jack Sisk, PAH CFO.
