Much-missed specialty returns to PAH with arrival of Dr. Khabbaz

PUNXSUTAWNEY — If you're like me — or like most people we know — you don't know what otolaryngology is. But one face that's becoming more and more familiar in town — and in the hallways of Punxsutawney Area
Hospital (PAH) — is otolaryngologist

Dr. Eyad Khabbaz, MD. In layman's terms, that means he specializes in treating ears, noses and throats (ENT).

And in Khabbaz, the community isn't just getting what representatives of the hospital have said is a much-needed and much-sought-after specialist, but it's also getting the connection to UPMC, which is one of the nation's leading hospitals in otolaryngology, as Khabbaz is technically employed by UPMC, but will be serving the community of Punxsutawney out of his office at PAH.
