Mahoning Shadow Trail thanks supporters, plans for Saturday’s race

October 9, 2013

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Mahoning Shadow Shuffle decided to celebrate its 10th anniversary by honoring one of its longtime supporters, Indiana First Bank located on Snyder Hill Road in Young Township.

Matt Taladay, president of the Mahoning Shadow Trail, said he and Sue Wolfe, treasurer, presented Shannon Kaza, assistant vice president/branch manager, Indiana First Bank, with a photograph of the trail for being one of the first major backers to give a very generous donation that was used toward constructing the pavilion at Fordham.

"In addition, this will be our 10th year with Indiana First as being the prime sponsor of the Mahoning Shadow Shuffle marathon, which will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Punxsutawney Little League field," Taladay said, adding that registration is at 8 a.m.

Taladay said there are four categories for the race — half marathon, 10K, 5K fun run and youth.
