Leah Grace Droske, 19

July 8, 2013

Leah Grace Droske, 19, of Dayton, Pa., passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at her mother’s home in North Carolina.

She was born March 22, 1994, in Rochester, N.Y., to Ron Droske, Jr. and Suzanne (Gattone) Powell.

Leah lived in the Dayton area most of her life and graduated from West Shamokin High School in 2012.

She recently worked at Dimaio’s Market as a cashier.

Leah loved horses and in her younger years enjoyed working with her dad at the Dayton Feed Mill.

Singing was her passion in life, and she was known for her amazing voice.

Leah sang at family weddings and the Dayton Fair, and she also tried out for “American Idol.”

Family was very important to her, and next to singing, spending time with her younger brother, Tyken, was ninety percent of her joy.

She attended both the Zion Baptist Church of Clarion and the Cornerstone Church of Clarion.

Leah accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at a young age, and her family takes comfort knowing that she is with Him now.

She is survived by her father and his wife, with whom Leah had a special bond, Ron Droske Jr. and Jennifer of Dayton, Pa.; her mother, Suzanne Powell of Greenville, N.C.; brothers Ronald E. Droske, III, of Dayton and Tyken J. Droske at home; a sister, Kristy M. Droske of Clarion; her paternal grandparents, Ronald E. Droske, Sr. and Alice C. Droske of Dayton; her maternal grandmother, Grace Gattone of Penn Hills; and her step-grandparents, Eric and Ginny Thoman of Rome, Pa.

Leah was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Auggie Gattone.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Dayton United Methodist Church, 105 East Church St., Dayton.

Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013, at Dayton United Methodist Church, with Pastor John Greene officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Leah to Ron and Jennifer Droske, Marion Center Bank, 106 West Main St., P.O. Box 607, Dayton, PA 16222.
