John C. Reitz, Sr., 75

John C. Reitz, Sr., 75, of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Reitz was born March 6, 1939, in Strattanville, a son of the late Irvin and Ruth (Buck) Reitz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie E. (Shirey) Reitz.

John loved hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by four sons, John C. Reitz, Jr. and wife Pam of Rural Valley and Randy L. Reitz, Jeffery S. Reitz and Rob L. Reitz and wife
Jennifer, all of Punxsutawney; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Buck and wife Danielle, George and wife Amber, Chelsea, Zachary, Eryn, Shelby, Robbi "Clyde" and Robyn; seven great-grandchildren, Logan, Richard, Rylan, Bentley, Loula, Cammerick and a new baby on the way.

He is also survived by two brothers, Clarence Reitz and Jerry Pierce and wife Anna Mae, all of Punxsutawney; a very special friend and caregiver, Violet Draa of Punxsutawney; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at the funeral home, with Pastor Tom Spiker of Punxsutawney Family Hospice officiating.

Interment is private.
