Jefferson County Fair returns Sunday

• Sunday, July 14
— 10 a.m. Deadline for arrival of 4-H and voc. market animals

— 12 p.m. Deadline for sheep and swine entries

— 12 to 3:30 p.m. Rabbit entries

— 1 to 5 p.m. Poultry judging and cooping

— 1 to 6 p.m. General exhibit entries received (including 4-H general entries and Project Books)

— 1:30 p.m. Opening ceremonies with emcee Karen Uplinger, speaker Pastor Leon Blose from Pleasant Valley Methodist and music arranged by Lee Grace Foulkrod of Sykesville

— 2:30 p.m. Queen and Junior Queen competitions (no princess or junior princess competitions this year)

— 4 p.m. Judging for rabbits

— 7 p.m. Horse pull

• Monday, July 15
— 9 a.m. General exhibits judging (including 4-H general entries); deadline for arrival of all other livestock entries)

— 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Poultry judging and cooping

— 5 p.m. Carnival opens

— 6 p.m. Milking contest in front of the Grandstand

— 6 to 8:30 p.m. Cheerleading, dance and gymnastics expo/demo on the Community Stage

— 6:45 p.m. 4-H swine and breeding swine show

— 7 p.m. Compact car demolition derby on the track

— 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Karaoke on the Community Stage

— 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. Band expo on the Community Stage

• Tuesday, July 16
— 9 a.m. Draft and mini-horse show (including hitch classes)

— 9 a.m. Antique machinery judging

— 5 p.m. Carnival opens

— 5:45 p.m. 4-H (and open) beef, dairy feeders, sheep and goat shows
— 6 to 8 p.m. Old-time square dance, open to the public, at the
Community Stage, with The Hidingers’ Band and Scott McClelland Calling

— 7 p.m. 4x4 gas/diesel truck and tractor pull

— 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Crossfire (Glendale Train) country band on the Community Stage

• Wednesday, July 17
— 9 a.m. Dairy show for all breeds of milking animals

— 9 a.m. Horse halter and riding show

— 5 p.m. Carnival opens

— 5:45 p.m. 4-H showmanship for beef, dairy, sheep, swine and goats
— 7 p.m. Street-licensed truck pulls with “PA Posse” semi-trucks (also Super Farm Tractors)

— 7 to 9 p.m. Michele McElhinny’s Mis B’havin on the Community Stage
— 9 to 11 p.m. Jared Thomas and Samantha Sears on the Community Stage

• Thursday, July 18
— 9 a.m. Open horse games show

— 1 to 2 p.m. Senior citizens special event with Village Voices (lunch reservations made with Jefferson County Area Agency on Aging)

— 5 p.m. Carnival opens

— 5 to 7 p.m. Bugsy Bayer’s Elvis Tribute on the Community Stage

— 7 p.m. 4-H Livestock sale in Show Arena

— 7 p.m. ATV, car and truck mud bog

— 7 to 9 p.m. Country Rebels on the Community Stage

— 9 to 11 p.m. Band expo on the Community Stage

• Friday, July 19
— 9 a.m. Youth/Adult Horse Fun Show (no payback)

— 5 p.m. Carnival opens

— 5 to 7 p.m. Vocalist Brenda Chamberlin Mishler on the Community Stage
— 7 p.m. Premier showmanship contest

— 7 p.m. Rawhide Professional Rodeo (rodeo admission included in regular fair admission)

— 7 to 9:30 p.m. “Beatles Music” with Day Tripper on the Community Stage (band expo later)

• Saturday, July 20
— 7 a.m. 4-H market animals sold at Thursday sale may leave

— 9 a.m. Memorial Horse Show (sign up at the fair)

— 1 p.m. Carnival opens

— 1 to 5:30 p.m. — Kim Thomas’ Fiddle Contest on the Community Stage (register at noon)

— 6 to 8 p.m. Country Pride band on the Community Stage

— 8 to 11 p.m. Gum Band on the Community Stage

— 10 p.m. Release time for all animals and chickens

• Every day after Sunday
— Exhibits open at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, earlier on Thursday and Saturday.

— Outdoor Community Stage under roof, hosted by Karen and Mike Uplinger of Dazzle U Productions

— Circle C Racing Pigs and T & D Chainsaw Carvers (auction on Saturday)
— Jefferson County 911 command post on site all week.

— Livestock and equipment displays plus flowers, veggies and fruits.

— Fine food concessions and commercial exhibitors.

— Miller Welding equipment display.

— Track and community stage entertainment every evening.

— Race car display by the Benny Gordon Racing Team.

— Keystone Elk County Alliance display with full-size mounted elk.

— Buckmaster’s Antler Scoring — Friday, 2 to 8 p.m. and next Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Carnival rides and games will be provided by Bartlebaugh Amusements.
All events are subject to change.

Admission is $8 and includes parking, carnival and admission to all fair activities. The gates open at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. next Saturday.
