The First Church of God on Route 36 in Punxsutawney will hold a blood drive on Friday in honor of Martha Hoover (pictured), who has been the coordinator of the drive since it began at the church.

After many years of volunteer work, Martha has decided to retire and spend time with her family and friends.

Area residents are invited to come to the church on Friday between noon and 6 p.m. to donate blood in Martha’s honor.
