Elva A. Fike, 89, Mayport, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Jefferson Manor Health Center in Brookville.

She was born Jan. 11, 1924, in Oliver Township, a daughter of the late Manual J. and Myrtle (Moore) Burkett.

On Sept. 18, 1948, she married Dale E. Fike of Mayport, who survives.
Throughout her life, she was employed by Cameron, Sylvania, and Rolo.

Her family was her life.

She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and feeding and watching her backyard birds.

She attended the Langville Church, where she was the pianist.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include three daughters, Victoria L. Burkett and husband Dale of Coolspring, Mona D. Hoffman and husband Roger of Punxsutawney, and Denise S. Wagner and husband Tim of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Robert, Mandy, and Justin Hoffman of Punxsutawney, Jason Burkett and wife Erica of Punxsutawney, Michael Burkett and wife Sherri of Coolspring, Ranee Sikora and husband Joseph of Punxsutawney, Matthew Burkett and wife Megan of Brookville, Alicia Burkett of Punxsutawney, Nicole Wagner and husband Jayson of South Carolina, and Jackie Burkett of Coolspring, 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alton L. Burkett of Punxsutawney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Todd, Martha Dobson, and Mildred Hoch; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Burkett.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday,
May 4, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Joan Rousseaux officiating.

Interment will be in Barton Chapel Cemetery, Sprankle Mills.

Memorial donations may be made, in Mrs. Fike’s memory, to the Barton Chapel Cemetery Association.
