Dorothy Ellen Smith, 64, of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was born April 28, 1949, in Banks Township, Indiana County, the daughter of the late Jay Albert Fisher and Edna Grace (Fetterman) Fisher.

She was married June 28, 1997, to Harry E. Smith, who preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a member of the Salvation Army where she attended services.

She worked 34 years at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was a loving sister and devoted friend who loved spending time with her family, reading and music.

She is survived by two stepsons, Eugene A. Smith and wife Anna of Punxsutawney and Harry E. Smith of Reynoldsville; three brothers, Kenneth Fisher of Rossiter, Wayne A. Fisher of Big Run and Willis Fisher and wife Wanda of DeLancey; four sisters, June Fetterman and husband Roy of Rossiter, Diana Miller of Anita, Anna Mae Rishell and husband Ted of Rossiter and Marian Urish and husband John of Rossiter; twostep-granddaughters, Sue Ann and Jeannie Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at the funeral home with Capt. Keith Jache officiating.

Interment will be private at Lakelawn Memorial Park in Reynoldsville.
