Council urges pedestrians to exercise safety precautions when walking on dark streets

September 10, 2013

PUNXSUTAWNEY — At Monday's meeting, Borough Council discussed pedestrian safety after recent complaints about persons walking down McHugh Avenue in dark clothing on the wrong side of the road.

Borough Council and Punxsutawney Borough Police are asking all pedestrians to use caution when walking at night.

Pedestrians, the council and the police said, are asked to wear light-colored clothing, so that they may be seen by approaching vehicles. They are also asked to walk facing traffic.
