Chamber supporting Small Business Saturday in town

Now that Thanksgiving is here, it's time to focus on Christmas shopping, and this year, the Punxsutawney Area Chamber of Commerce is reminding those in the community that Saturday, Nov. 28, is Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday is a day focused on local businesses and a way for the community to support these businesses. It was started in 2010 by American Express and was picked up by the Better Business Bureau, with the purpose of supporting small businesses.

Falling between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday gives those in the community a chance to shop locally instead of heading out of town. Though it started out small, Small Business Saturday has grown and not only takes place in this community, but also in communities across the country.
