‘Two Nights of Royalty’ — Homecoming Queen to be crowned Friday, dance Saturday

Seniors at PAHS recently elected six girls to make up the 2013 Homecoming Queen’s Court. The court members are Emily Horner, Elizabeth Depp-Hutchinson, Isabella Gallina, Ashley Reitz, Emily Reitz and Searra Wasicki.

• Elizabeth Ann Depp-Hutchinson is the daughter of William and Cindy Depp-Hutchinson of Punxsutawney. She is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, she has participated in Bible Club, 10-12; Art Club, 9 and 12; Powderpuff Football 11-12; and office helper 12; attended Forest Dancing; is a member of the Mahoning Valley Ballet; and is a teacher at VanDyke and Company. She has also been honored as a member of National Honor Society, 11-12; Student of the Month, 10; Honor Roll, 9-12; class secretary, 10; class treasurer, 11; and class vice president, 12. Depp-Hutchinson also attends the Woodland Avenue Methodist Church. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a physical therapy assistant. Her escort will be Garrett Hoffman.

• Emily Rose Horner is the daughter of Michael and Kim Horner of Punxsutawney. Horner is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, she has participated in Ski Club, 9-12; Varsity Club, 10-12; Bible Club, 10-12; Basketball, 9-12; Softball, 10-12; Powderpuff Football, 11-12; Soccer, 9-12; and Student Government, 9-12. She has also been honored as a National Honor Society member, 11-12; High Honor Roll, 9-12; soccer captain, 11-12; soccer letter winner, 10-12; basketball letter winner, 10-11; and Student Government vice president, 12. Horner attends SS.C.D. Church in Punxsutawney. After graduation, she plans to attend St. Francis University to pursue a career in physical therapy. She will be escorted by Greg Wasicki.

• Isabella Angeline Gallina is the daughter of KC and Melissa Gallina of Anita. She is enrolled in the academic curriculum at PAHS. During high school, Gallina has participated in volleyball, 9-12; Ski Club, 9-12; Bible Club, 10-12; Powderpuff Football, 11-12, yearbook staff, 12; Junior Olympic Volleyball, 10-12; and Agriculture Club, 12. She has also been honored as a Student of the Month, 9; volleyball letter winner, 10-11; and a Pride Student, 11. Gallina attends the Punxsutawney First United Methodist Church. After graduation, she plants to attend a four-year college to pursue a career in radiology. She will be escorted by Evan Martin.

• Ashley Lynn Reitz is the daughter of Peg Reitz of Punxsutawney.
She is enrolled in the general curriculum at PAHS. During high school, Reitz has participated in volleyball, 9-12; basketball, 9-12; softball, 9-10; track & field, 11-12; Bible Club, 9-12; yearbook staff, 12; Ski Club, 9-12; Varsity Club, 10-12; Powderpuff Football, 11-12; and Intramurals, 10-12; and was a Special Olympics helper, 11. Reitz has been honored as a basketball letter winner, 10-11; volleyball letter winner, 10-11; volleyball co-captain, 12; and the track & field District IX runner-up for pole vault, 11. She attends the Ohl United Methodist Church, and is a part of Edge Youth Group. Reitz also admires Mr. White. After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year college to pursue a career in occupational therapy. Tommy Renwick will be her escort.

• Emily Sue Reitz is the daughter of Peg Reitz of Punxsutawney. She is enrolled in the general curriculum at PAHS. During high school, Reitz has participated in volleyball, 9-12; basketball, 9-10; track & field, 9-12; boys’ basketball statistician, 11; Spanish Club, 11; Bible Club, 10-12; Ski Club, 9-12; Intramurals, 10-12; yearbook staff, 12; Agriculture Club, 12; Junior Olympics Volleyball, 10-12; Powderpuff Football, 11-12; and Special Olympics helper, 11. She has also been honored as a Student of the Month, 11; volleyball letter winner, 10-11; volleyball co-captain, 12; volleyball Coach’s Award, 10-11; track & field letter winner, 10-11; and Pride Award, 10. Reitz also attends Ohl United Methodist Church and is a part of Edge Youth Group. After graduation, she plans to attend a four-year college to pursue a career in health and physical education. Her escort will be Joe Roberts.

• Searra Dee Wasicki is the daughter of Richard and Sally Wasicki of Rossiter. She is enrolled in the general curriculum at PAHS. During high school, Wasicki has participated in Ski Club, 9-12; Key Club, 10; Spanish Club, 10; Bible Club, 12; yearbook staff, 12; Powderpuff Football, 11-12; Special Olympics helper, 11; baseball statistician, 9; and tennis, 9-12. She has been honored as a Student of the Month, 11; Pride Award, 10; secretary of chorus, 11; and tennis letter winner, 9-10. Wasicki attends Rossiter Calvary United Methodist Church. After graduation, she plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania to pursue a career as a registered nurse. Tyler Baer will be Searra’s escort.

The presentation of the Court and the crowning of the Homecoming Queen and Princess will be held during halftime of the Punxsy/Karns City football game on Friday. Saturday, there will also be a Homecoming Dance held by Student Government at PAHS.
